My dog ate daisy petals. Are they toxic? Should I call the vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

My dog grabbed a daisy from a bouquet and ate a few petals before I was able to get it away from him. Will he be okay? Should I go to the vet?

Hello!

I have great news for you! Daisies are non-toxic to dogs. I doubt you will see anything as a result of him eating the petals, but at most, mild stomach irritation could cause an episode of vomit or two.
No need to go to the vet for daisy petal ingestion alone. :)

Have a great evening! Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach!
