My dog ate garlic from the garden. Will he get sick or poisoned?

However, garlic and butter both can affect her in different ways, especially by causing gastrointestinal symptoms like the vomiting. Also, begonias are very toxic to dogs sometimes resulting in kidney failure so if she ate any, she should be evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. I would take Zeus into a vet immediately. Garlic is toxic to dogs, and because the garlic was a powder, it would be even more concentrated and take less of it to cause toxic symptoms. This is likely not enough garlic to pose a serious risk of toxicity. At worst, you may see some mild stomach upset. Withhold food for 24 hours and feed a bland diet in small, frequent amount until symptoms resolve.

If it was only seasoned with garlic powder it likely won't cause any problems, however the other seasoning ingredients could cause some minor digestive upset such as vomiting or diarrhea. Uncooked rice itself may also cause bloating if a lot was eaten. You can feed a bland diet of boiled rice and chicken if your dog only ate a little and has minor GI upset, however if you see persistent vomiting or diarrhea, blood in the vomit or diarrhea, a bloated or painful abdomen, or your pup seems in severe distress, seeking veterinary care ASAP is best.

However, there was not a likely a lot on the pizza he ate if it was just flavoring on the crust. If there were whole cloves though, this would be more worrisome.
