My dog vomited and has diarrhea. She ate some eggs out of the trash this morning. She is a 4 year old female, fixed, and up to date on all vaccines

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question. I am concerned that Egg has vomited, and it could be whatever she ate in the trash has upset her stomach. I can give you a home remedy for her to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Best of luck.

Getting into the trash can definitely cause some minor diarrhea. I would keep an eye on her, and you can also offer a bland meal of some boiled chicken and rice to help settle her stomach some. If the diarrhea continues for more than a few days, she shows any new signs of illness, or she seems very painful or in distress, a vet visit is best.
