Dog ate spicy food, now vomiting and diarrhea. When to see vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 11 years and 1 month old | 36 lbs

Hi my dog has started having diorreoh in the early hours and has also vomited. When he is lying down I can hear his stomach making wee noises. He was fine when I left to work last night and when I returned I noticed my son had left a plate of with some food on it ( I cooked spicy wraps ) I think the dog could have ate of the plate do u think no should wait the 12 hours or seek vet immediately thank you

withhold food for 12 hours then offer him boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if he is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put him back gradually on his normal food. If he continues vomiting or is not eating, take him to the vet to get treatment.

Poor Brandy! The hot sauce may have upset her stomach, as dogs can be very sensitive to spicy foods. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, the diarrhea continues in the absence of food, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away.
