My dog ate dryer lint. Is it toxic or will it cause an obstruction?

The dryer sheet doesn't have any toxins that could hurt your dog and if only a small piece is missing, this should pass through his intestinal tract without trouble. Keep an eye out for drooling, vomiting, loss of appetite, or general lethargy. If anything like this happens, get him in to see your vet right away.

Hello, thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Great question! These litter pellets are made from paper so they are non-toxic if ingested. That being said, if they are ingested in a large quantity they can be harmful and cause an obstruction. Typically once they urinate/defecate on the pellets that should deter them from wanting to eat the pellets in the future but that is not a given. You will just have to monitor Dexter in the beginning to see how he reacts to them. Larger breed dogs will have less of an issue (with GI obstruction) than small breed dogs. Since you washed her off, I think she will be fine. Watch her for any abnormal behaviors (not eating/drinking, vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, etc). If anything is seen, I would have your vet check her out to see if she needs any meds or treatment. If he is acting sick, then do not feed him, supply water only if he does not vomit & get him to the vet as soon as you can. But if he seems fine, he will most likely be OK. If Vito does not pass it in the next 8 hours a check up would ideally needed, as this could have caused an obstruction. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up earlier than 8 hours if you notice diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. Hi, I think the amount ingested is very small and it should therefore not be dangerous for Murph and hopefully pass through. I would keep and eye on Murph feaces and make sure he is comfortable, eating and not vomiting. If worried, have him checked over but hopefully it will pass through over the next 24 -48 hours.
