My dog ate SoPhresh litter pellets. Are they toxic or harmful?

The wood litter typically is not large enough to cause any major problems and if she chewed on them and made them even smaller. I would monitor for now and if you begin to notice any symptoms such as lethargy, vomiting, abdominal pain, etc., then I would recommend taking her in to be examined by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. Hello. Without knowing what the ingredients are it is difficult to say, but if you managed to vacuum things up pretty quickly, I would not worry. Most plant fertilizers are not very toxic. Now, if your pet had managed to eat 1/2 a bag, there would be some concern, but if a few were eaten by accident or out of curiosity, Charlie will be just fine. Hello, it is not toxic, but if Garu ingests enough it could cause a gastrointestinal obstruction. So, based on what you said, I would not worry about it. He likely did not eat enough for it to be a problem. You may want to try using some Feliway products to see if they help with the pica. ( https://www.feliway.com/br ) ( https://www.feliway.com/br/FELIWAY/Feliway-Classic-Difusor ) The other thing that often helps to decrease pica symptoms is environmental enrichment. Enrichment usually means hiding toys for him, food filled toys, cat nip mice, and bits of food. Offer safe chew items (ie: dog bones), lots of scratching posts of the material and orientation that he likes. And if he likes tv, video then provide that as well. Play with him regularly if he will engage with you. Some cats symptoms will get better with a higher fiber diet. Pica is not a condition that you will "cure" but you many be able to lessen his symptoms with some of the above changes. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Silica litters are non toxic if ingested however If too much of the silica litter is eaten it could cause an intestinal obstruction. Silica litter can also cause respiratory irritation in cats with allergic airway disease like asthma. Since your kitten seems to like to eat the silica litter I recommend finding a different litter type that she is not interested in eating. If you are referring to the fresh packets or silica gel or activated charcoal packets that come in shoe boxes, medications, etc then they are non toxic. Ones that contain iron are toxic. So I would check to see what kind it is. Silica gel are white. Activated charcoal is black but isn't magnetic. Iron is magnetic, black and he should see a Vet if he ate the iron. I hope this helps!

Hello, thank you for your question. I do not believe that dryer lint is directly toxic to dogs. Depending on her size if she ingested a large quantity it could lead to an obstruction in her GI tract or possibly GI upset. I would recommend continuing to monitor her for the time being for development of any inappetance, vomiting, diarrhea, or other symptoms. Additionally, you could offer her a canned food diet to help coat her GI tract and help the lint from causing any further problems. If Mopsy develops any symptoms I would recommend having her seen by a veterinarian. Hope this helps!

The silica gel packets are virtually non-toxic. They are labelled 'do not 'eat' because they aren't meant to be eaten and the dust from the processing and creation of silica is irritating to the skin, respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract and can cause problems for people exposed to it on a regular basis, such as those who work making them. The beads do not enlarge in the stomach and the exterior packaging is usually soft and presents little risk of injury of obstruction.
