My dog ate cottonwood fuzzy leaves. Are they toxic or poisonous?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 11 months and 9 days old | 15 lbs

Sandy ate a bunch of cottonwood green fuzzy leaves. So far so good, but is she going to get sick from eating them?? She eats all kinds of weird stuff, but hopefully cottonwood fuzzies aren’t poisonous or fatal to dogs???

I have researched this and cannot find any information stating that cottonwood trees and their leaves are toxic. If your dog vomits or regurgitates the leaves then that may be due to the fact that they are not proper food fare.I do not think you have to worry.
