My puppy ate a cigarette. Why is she throwing up yellow foam?

Unfortunately even one cigarette butt is poisonous enough to cause serious toxicity in a small puppy. If you have not inspected the vomitus of your puppy and found the butt in it then it did not come out and you need to take your puppy to a pet ER or a vet for an exam. Signs of nicotine poisoning occur within an hour of ingestion and include tremors, drooling, hallucinations, constricted pupils, vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, increased heart rate and high blood pressure.

Do not give her any more milk, it causes GI upset in dogs and wll make things worse. I can give you a home remedy for her to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Hello, sorry to hear about Nala. It is common for dogs to vomit after chewing cigarettes containing nicotine. Typically, decontamination of nicotine, the toxicant, occurs during the vomiting episode and dogs do not experience other symptoms of toxicity. However if ingestion of nicotine does occur, dogs can experience other symptoms such as abnormal heart rates and rhythms, abnormalities in blood pressures and even seizures or tremors. After ingestion of nicotine containing products, it is recommended that patients get evaluated by a veterinarian to monitor their heart rate, blood pressure, and neurologic status. If you are concerned that Nala may have ingested the cigarette, then you should have her evaluated by a veterinarian. Otherwise, monitor for more vomiting, lethargy, weakness, and episodes of collapse, or trembling and seizing. If you note any, contact your veterinarian immediately. I am sorry to hear about Coca! It is pretty common for dogs to occasionally vomit if they ate something that didn't agree with their stomach, but we do want to be certain we don't have something more serious going on here. In puppies we especially want to watch vomiting because of a disease called Parvo virus which can cause vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and anorexia. This is a serious disease which requires aggressive treatment. Because of this, if your puppy continues to vomit, has dairrhea (especially if it has blood in it), is lethargic or not eating then she should see a vet right away. We would also worry if she ingested a large piece of uncooked potato about a possible obstruction, so this would be another reason to monitor her closely. If she seems to have a normal level of energy, is not having diarrhea and doesn't vomit any more then I would just continue to monitor her.

That depends on how frequently Tater is vomiting. Pets can vomit for many reasons. It could range from acid building up on the stomach overnight to the beginnings of a kidney disease. Dogs can vomit every once in a while. If you are noticing however that he is vomiting on a consistent basis then I recommend to have him examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps.

There are many reasons why Koko could be vomiting. It can range from parasites to Parvo. It’s impossible to know what the cause is without a detailed history, a physical exam and testing for parasites and viruses. Puppies don’t have the reserves that adults and they do dehydrate and can have problems with low blood sugar which can be fatal if not treated. I recommend to have Koko visit his veterinarian to be examined. Feeding Koko a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken and boiled white plain rice can help to settle the tummy.
