My dog occasionally vomits white foam. When should I be concerned?

Do not give her any more milk, it causes GI upset in dogs and wll make things worse. I can give you a home remedy for her to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. If Bogummy is vomiting that many times a day I would be concerned that he may have gastritis, pancreatitis, or some sort of liver issue (because of the head pressing ). I would recommend taking him back to his veterinarian and pursuing other treatments such as antacids or bloodwork.

Vomiting can be observed with conditions such as gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, dietary indiscretion, gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion and obstruction, among other possibilities. For this reason, I highly recommend that you have Diesel evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment as soon as possible as I am afraid he is likely becoming dehydrated. They would be able to check for these possibilities and also check his hydration status and give him medications to make him feel better. Good luck!

It sounds possible that Magi may have acid reflux disease. I would inquire with your vet about trying a short course of antacids on her. If that has already been tried, then I would suggest doing some bloodwork to check for any organ issues. And if that again is normal, then a food trial should be done to treat for suspected inflammatory bowel disease. Some good food options here are going to be easily digestible foods such as Royal Canin hypoallergenic HP, Hill's Selected protein PR, or Hill's Z/D Ultra. This much vomiting is not normal. Tifa needs to be seen by a vet for an exam as soon as possible. Please understand that vomiting is a very non-specific symptom. Almost anything can cause vomiting. Your vet needs to do an exam and maybe some testing (blood and/or x-rays) to figure out what is going on. I'm glad she is acting OK and you don't think her abdomen is painful, but no offense, you are not properly trained to palpate the abdomen correctly. The vet will need to do that and will be able to assess pain as well as feeling the integrity of the organs. The stomach itself is up under the ribcage and cannot be palpated. Dogs can act seemingly normal but still have something wrong underlying.

Vomiting white foam could be serious or not serious, depending on how Buddy is acting. All it tells us is that something is making him nauseated enough to vomit. He could have eaten something that doesn't agree with his stomach, like new treats, or he got into the garbage. If he is acting pretty normal, and has energy, and does not seem sick or lethargic, you are ok to watch him and see if this resolves. If he is really depressed, mopey, doesn't act like himself or if the vomiting goes on for several days, there may be something very seriously wrong like a blockage or kidney failure or some other issue. If this was an isolated incident, I would just monitor Simba unless you are concerned he ingested a foreign object. If he refuses to eat his next meal or continues to vomit, you need to follow up with your veterinarian for an exam and discuss bloodwork and x-rays.
