Fluid leaking after dog artificial insemination. Can she get pregnant?

Pet's info: Dog | Bouvier des Flandres | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 2 months old | 60 lbs

After My bitch is AI with fresh Semen. Her legs are held up at an angel. For about 15 mins. Fluid runs out of her. What is going wrong? But even of fluid comes out. Can she still get pregnant?

I don't think anything is wrong per se. We sedate the females at my clinic for AI so we are sure that we are through the cervix and are doing it sterile. It could be normal that some fluid comes out. If it was a lot then I think you didn't get the straw through the cervix and I would worry that it won't take. Can you do the AI again with a Vet that does this routinely!

Is one artificial insemination enough for my dog to get pregnant?

One time can be enough to get pregnant, especially if you did the AI when she ovulated. At this point in time, it's probably too late to do it again, but if it doesn't work this time, I'd speak to her vet about doing the process twice the next time she is in heat to maximize your chances. My dog has grey fluid discharge one day after mating. Is it normal?

No, I would not say this is normal after 1 day. I would keep an eye on her and make sure that she does otherways look well in herself. If you are still noticing this fluid coming out tomorrow, or if she is not her usual self I would have her checked over. Hope this helps ! Why is my dog bleeding after ovary removal? Can she get pregnant?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If your Vet only removed the ovaries then she still has a uterus and that is where the blood comes from. After this heat she will no longer have them because the ovaries are gone and they provide the hormonal influence. If an intact male dog mated with her after the surgery I do not think she will get pregnant as the ovary makes the eggs. I hope this helps!

Should I take my dog to the vet for heavy bleeding after uterine injection?

I think she should be rechecked. It sounds like she had an open pyometra or uterine infection. While the discharge could still be normal it's also possible that she needs antibiotics for a bit longer. Sometimes the injections and antibiotics do not completely clear the infection and surgery is necessary.

My female dog pulled away during mating. Should I be worried?

Hello, Dogs can tie and untie normally while mating. Pulling away may be a sign she is uninterested. If the male dog's penis is stuck outside of the sheath, that may be a medical emergency.
