No, I would not say this is normal after 1 day. I would keep an eye on her and make sure that she does otherways look well in herself. This is all quite normal during mating. Be sure to keep them segregated after mating to prevent frequent mating which can be traumatic for both, repeat mating in 48hours is generally considered optimal

I am sorry for the delay in answering your question. As dogs come into heat, initially a bloody discharge is seen. Then usually about 1-2 weeks later that discharge becomes more yellow in color, and that is when they are receptive to a male dog. They tend to accept the male for 1-2 weeks, and a yellowish discharge can be normal, though it should not be in very large amounts. So I don't think what you are describing is completely abnormal, especially if she is eating, isn't lethargic or acting sick. Hello, Dogs can tie and untie normally while mating. Pulling away may be a sign she is uninterested. If the male dog's penis is stuck outside of the sheath, that may be a medical emergency. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Based on your pictures I wouldn't call it heavy bleeding. Dogs mate when the female is in heat (during bleeding). Breeding may have triggered some blood that had been pooling. I wouldn't worry unless it continues or she is lethargic. But yes, she can still get pregnant. Good luck!

This is normal. As long as he’s urinating normally, acting normal, eating and drinking, no vomiting or diarrhea, there is no reason for concern. We sedate the females at my clinic for AI so we are sure that we are through the cervix and are doing it sterile. It could be normal that some fluid comes out. If it was a lot then I think you didn't get the straw through the cervix and I would worry that it won't take. Can you do the AI again with a Vet that does this routinely! I wish you the best!
