Is curd and rice proper food for my 4-month-old Labrador puppy?

Celeriac is not appropriate for a 24 day old puppy. She will not be fully weaned from her mother at this age, and should still be nursing until she is at least six to eight weeks of age. After that, she will need a puppy formulated food only.

No, this is not good to give Yuki and I would not feed it to him. It's not formulated for dogs and it will not give him the nutrients he requires to grow. He should be fed a puppy formulated food only, such as Royal Canin, Hill's Science diet, PurinaProPlan, or Iams. The only liquid Yuki will need is water.

Labs have a tendency to grow too fast, and as they get older to get fat. Therefore I like to use Nutro large breed puppy dry, then switch to adult large breed, and weight management later in life if needed. I like Nutro because it’s a complete diet and lower in calorie than most of the other dog foods. Dogs like it and there are several different Nutro varieties for you to choose from. You can start now. Buy a high-quality dry food and mix it in the ratio of 1/4 dry food to 3/4 of the cerelac. Feed three times/day. If the dog is tolerating the mixture after a day or so, increase the dog food to 1/2 the total and decrease the cerelac to 1/2 half the total. Then you can give 3/4 dog food to 1/4 cerelac, and finally switch over to the dog food exclusively. I am concerned that the cerelac may not have been giving the dog the nutrients he needs. It is best to get him onto dog food as soon as possible. Watch for signs of excessive weight gain, as the dog food may cause him to put on more weight than the cerleac has. After a few months you can decrease the frequency to twice/day. I am available for consultation if you have questions or need additional help.

Yes you can as long as it is a food made for puppies. You should soften it a bit first by soaking it with some water or chicken broth for 10 minutes before feeding. Do this until he is comfortable chewing the hard pieces.

The best thing you can do for your puppy is to feed him good quality complete puppy food by a reputed dog food brand such as Hill's Science Diet, Royal Canine or Purina or another your veterinary doctor may recommend. These foods are available at your veterinary doctor, in pet shops and over the internet. Do not feed your dog milk products or cerelac as it can cause gastrointestinal problems. Best stick with commercial puppy food as described above.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Maggies is very cute! I think that 4 weeks is too young to be taken from the mother and siblings. At this stage I would mix puppy formula with canned puppy food. If she won't eat that then you can mix the cerelac in with the canned puppy food but I personally do not like animals eating human dairy foods. Gradually over the next week or so add less and less puppy formula and more canned puppy food. Then around 5-6 weeks add moistened dry food. Hopefully by 7 weeks she will be eating all canned or dry puppy food. Good luck!
