My new puppy doesn't seem 8 weeks old. How can I confirm its age?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | unneutered | 17 days old | 7 lbs

I don't think my puppy is 8 weeks old I just got him

I am not able to tell from the picture how old your puppy is. The best way to get an accurate age estimate is to have a veterinarian evaluate the puppy.

If the puppy’s teeth have erupted then he is at least 6 weeks old.

It would also be helpful to know his breed, how much he weighs now, and how big the parents were.

We cannot tell you how old the dog is just by looking at a photo. All I can tell you is that if he has all his adult teeth then he is at least 6 months old. Hi there. There is no way for us to age him without looking at his teeth. That being said, he appears to be between 6 and 8 weeks of age. You can take him to any local vet and they will age him for you. If you just got him from the side of the road he likely needs vaccinations and deworming urgently - you should have that done as soon as possible.
