How to check if your dog's food is safe after a vitamin D recall?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 4 years and 1 month old

I heard that there was a recall on dry dog food for "vitamin D" and I was wondering how do I know what brand is safe? How can I tell my dog food is safe, what should I be looking for ? Thank you

The following link has the current FDA recall information, as well as what symptoms to monitor for if you are concerned about Hazel. https://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/NewsEvents/ucm627485.htm
If Hazel has eaten any of the recalled foods I recommend contacting your vet, as testing and/or treatment may be needed.
