Is CertiPUR-US memory foam safe for my dog to sleep on my bed?

Pet's info: Dog | Border Collie | Male | neutered | 6 years and 4 months old | 40 lbs

I recently purchased a memory foam mattress topper that is CertiPUR-US certified. This means that it contains VOC’s that are less than 0.5 parts per million which is the safe range for humans. However, I am wondering if this is also a safe range for dogs as my dog sleeps on my bed each night. The company claims that they also do not use dangerous chemicals in their foam and I know that some dog beds are regulated by CertiPUR-US as well. I want to be sure that this memory foam will not harm Timo.

I recommend using a mild or sensitive detergent, that it what I have used on my sheets and clothing, and have never had a problem with my dogs even when they sleep in the bed with me. My dog tears beds. Is sleeping on a blanket safe for his joints?

Yes, it is safe for him to sleep on this bedding. Once he is through his chewing and destructive phase, he can have a normal bed. You wan to be sure to keep him safe and remove any bedding he wants to tear up so that he does not get an intestinal blockage. I hope this helps.

Is it safe for my dog to sleep under the bed covers all night long?

No, it won't hurt her to sleep on the bed, but I doubt she will sleep under the covers as it may get too hot for her. If you are going to have her sleep with you, I recommend waking up at least once in the night to take her out to potty. As a puppy, she might not be able to hold her bladder all through the night, and you don't want any accidents on your bed.

Can my dog sleep safely in a dog house on the balcony in winter?

If the wooden dog house is insulated, and there is a lot of padding inside and the door is covered, that would be ok during the day but I would avoid it at night. Make sure that the balcony has a secure border so that she cannot get through the barrier /slip through or under the bars and fall or escape. Is fish-based dog food safe long-term, considering mercury levels?
