Why is my bottle-fed puppy's poop yellow with bumps? Is it normal?

His poop is bright yellow b/c of his current diet (just rice and cottage cheese). He should have some protein in there, so I would suggest adding chicken or ground turkey. Also as long as he is not straining to poop, there is no cause for concern for the fewer stools, especially since he isn't eating anything with much substance. As long as he is acting normal, there is no major cause for concern here. Slowly transition him back to his normal diet once your vet says he is good to do so, and his stools should return to normal. It could be due to the change in diet. If he otherwise seems fine than continue with the milk replacer and monitor him. Have him examined by a vet if you have any concerns. He will need to be dewormed with a broad spectrum dewormer and vaccinated once he is old enough.

Puppy stools can have a wide range of normal. Changes are often due to what they are eating or intestinal parasites. Cow's milk is not appropriate for puppies, you need to go to a pet store and get puppy milk replacer. The spots on his belly look normal in the picture, but they could also be caused by insect bites or puppy pyoderma, which often resolves on its own. A vet examination can tell you what is going on for sure. The vet can also test for intestinal parasites that aren't treated with over the counter dewormers, like pyrantel. I would discontinue the medications you are giving. Hi there. Poor pup! Bottle babies are very hard to raise-it's just like having a baby and I commend you on trying. These babies can have parasites, a "failure to thrive" (usually because of lack of antibodies from mom), etc. make sure your milk is mixed and stored properly. The pre made cans of esbilac are my favorite for bottle puppies and have easy feeding directions. Your puppy also needs to eat about every 3 hours at most. Make sure the puppy is passing gas and that you are also not overfeeding (which is also very serious). If Cow continues to do poorly, best to see a doctor. I hope this helps! Good luck to you.

That is not a problem but could be an early sign of diarrhoea. As a first approach I would suggest to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. Did anyone feed him anything other than his puppy food? If so he may have an upset stomach. He can also have one if he has intestinal parasites or a virus. Make sure you are feeding a puppy milk replacer and not a human formula. Puppies require different nutrients than human infants do. You can pick up Esbilac from a pet store.
