Can I bathe my smelly 1-month-old puppy and when's his first vaccine?

8 weeks old is the minimum age to begin bathing a puppy. Use a pet approved shampoo for puppies sensitive skin. She can be bathed every 6-8 weeks. You can use plain, unscented baby wipes or pet wipes to spot clean her in between baths. If you bathe her at night, dry her thoroughly and keep her war to prevent chill. It is best to bath her early in the day so she has ample time to dry off and doesn't go to sleep damp.

If you really want to take him, then I recommend carrying him into the facility. Place him in the tub, bathe him and then carry him out of the store. There isn't a problem bathing a puppy prior to vaccinations, but I would recommend separating them by a few hours. Thanks for visting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Coco is considered to be fully vaccinated 7 days after her 3rd round of vaccines, which is between 14-16 weeks of age. She currently isn't fully vaccinated, so it is best to wait a bit if possible. I would recommend doing puppy wipes or waterless shampoo until then, if you are not too keen on doing a full on bath right now. This can at least get some of the puppy dirt off until she is ideal age for a grooming appt. Another alternative is to have a mobile groomer do her bath or discuss with the grooming facility to see if they take any extra precautions for puppies that aren't fully vaccinated. Aw Snoopy is adorable! Yes you can bathe him but I would use something very gentle like a puppy shampoo. I do not recommend using a flea shampoo as these can sometimes be too strong for puppies. You can bathe him every 2-3 weeks unless he gets really muddy/stinky and needs a bath otherwise. I hope this helps!

You can bathe him in baby shampoo now. You can try water when he starts to eat puppy food and gets weaned from formula. Often times they drink last since their puppy food is soft and watered down to help them chew it at that age. They get the water in that mixture instead of drinking. Once they transition more to dry food you will notice the water consumption increase

I also recommend taking them in to the vet soon for their first distemper/parvo vaccine, as well as their deworming. Pups are generally born with intestinal parasites. Hope this helps!
