He could potentially have problems. Depending on how big he is, it doesn't take much. The first signs of antifreeze poisoning is acting like they are drunk. So watch him closely and if seen or any other abnormal behaviors, I would have your vet take a look at him immediately. Hello. If a dangerous or toxic amount of antifreeze was consumed, stage 1 symptoms can show up as early as 30 minutes & include vomiting, ataxia, weakness or depression. Signs may subside in an hour or two before progressing to a swift decline in health 6-12 hours post ingestion. During this stage, you may see panting & a significant increase in thirst & also urination. Complete shutdown of the kidneys usually occurs around 72 - 96 hours post ingestion. So if you are seeing absolutely no signs at 12 hours, you are probably OK, but if there are ever any doubts, take your dog to your vet because bloodwork will be the best way to diagnose a suspicion rather than waiting to see if anything develops ( which may now be too late to treat ). These tablets (or eventually the antifreeze liquid) can cause extreme toxicity in dogs. An IMMEDIATE check up and treatment are necessary, this intoxication could be life threatening. Bring the tablets with you but have Teddy checked as soon as possible.

Thank you for the follow-up information. This is a very serious toxicity especially in such a small dog. Brodifacom is a long-acting anticoagulant (LAAC). LAACs prevent the blood from clotting, resulting in internal bleeding. Long-acting anticoagulants work similarly to the “blood thinner” medications that people take (e.g., warfarin or Coumadin®). When dogs or cats ingest LAACs, it typically takes 3-5 days before signs of poisoning are visible. So you don't want to wait until she is clinical signs. You should have her treated now. Common signs of poisoning include signs of internal bleeding: lethargy, exercise intolerance, coughing, difficulty breathing (due to bleeding into the lungs), weakness, and pale gums. Less common signs include vomiting, diarrhea (with or without blood), nose bleeds, bruising, bloody urine, swollen joints, inappetence, and bleeding from the gums. With some types of LAACs ( like brodifacoum), it only takes a very small amount to cause poisoning. Other types of LAACs have a wider margin of safety (like bromadiolone) and it takes a larger amount to cause poisoning. In my opinion this is an emergency and you should get Minty to the vet ASAP.
