How to feed my adult female pitbull: Best diet, wet food, schedule?

Hello. There is no hard set rules for this, but I would imagine you want to feed at least 1/4 - 1/2 cup of dry plus about a tablespoon of canned 3 times a day. Adjust as the puppies grow, but you really cannot overfeed a fast growing puppy. They will eat what they want, so if they leave any behind, cut back temporarily until their stomachs catch up. As young dogs vary in their activity level I adjust the amount depending on Coso. If he is ravenous at each meal you are not feeding enough. I gradually increase the amount at each feeding so he is hungry at meals and he just finishes the food. If he's starving I feed three meals daily, as he ages and slows down his growth he may not be as hungry then I feed twice daily. I recommend twice daily feeding for life and adjust the amount of food needed to keep him happy and at a normal weight. The feeding amounts on the bag are just guidelines. Hi there and thank you for using pet coach! The food I mostly recommend is Science Diet. I have used their food for over 20 years in my own pets and have never had a problem with their food. My own dog was on their food for 20 years and did very well. He maintained an excellent body condition, hair coat was amazing and he loved very long. I contribute his longevity to a good diet and good care as well. If you are opposed to Science Diet, I also recommend Royal Canin, Natural Balance and Purina One. There are so many foods out there and it is easy to get caught up in the marketing game of "natural", "organic" and "grain free". As long as your dog is on a well balanced and complete diet is what matters the most. I typically recommend feeding a puppy food for the first 12 months and then switching to an adult food from 12 months to 7 years of age. Beyond 7 years I recommend a senior formula. There are a variety of types, some specifically designed for healthy skin and coats, that you can feed. Some people find that fish oil supplements can help with the quality of fur too, but these should be used in moderation as they are high in fat and may cause diarrhea. Grain-free foods aren't really necessary unless Apollo has an allergy to a specific ingredient and needs to eat a grain-free diet. Any balanced food should be fine to give, but brands such as Nutro, Science Diet, and Eukanuba all offer a great variety of foods including grain-free, specific health issues, large breed, etc that Apollo may enjoy eating. They also all carry wet-food varieties of their dry foods so you can easily mix and match without upsetting Apollo's stomach. If you do switch foods be sure to do so over a period of 7-9 days, gradually adding in more of the new food over time to help Apollo's GI tract adjust and minimize digestive upset.

The bag will tell you how much to feed him daily. Max should be fed three times a day, once in the morning, once at noon, and once in the evening. Take the daily recommend allotment of food on the bag and divide it into three equal portions.

Brands I like include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. I would feed Gotham one of those. No, I wouldn't add cooked meats to his diet, he doesn't need them. You can give it to him as an occasional treat. Giving it too often will lead him to not each his dog food. I hope this helps!
