How many times a day should I feed my 3-year-old female Bull Arab?

When he is six months of age, you can feed him twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. He should be fed a puppy food until he is one year of age. Do not feed table scraps or human foods. Do not feed grain free foods as those can cause heart disease. Royal Canin, Hills Scoence Doet and Ians are all good brands to feed.

As young dogs vary in their activity level I adjust the amount depending on Coso. If he is ravenous at each meal you are not feeding enough. I gradually increase the amount at each feeding so he is hungry at meals and he just finishes the food. If he's starving I feed three meals daily, as he ages and slows down his growth he may not be as hungry then I feed twice daily. I recommend twice daily feeding for life and adjust the amount of food needed to keep him happy and at a normal weight. The feeding amounts on the bag are just guidelines. It really boils down to owner's preference and convenience like you state but I always like twice daily feedings. It gives you an opportunity to quickly assess their appetite and any changes that may occur with it which could indicate something is wrong. Smaller meals divided into 2 feedings are more easily digestible rather than one large meal, in my opinion. Free feeding can lead to obesity problems so strict attention must be made as to the amount that the pet has access to each day. Obesity is a very common problem in pets just as in people. Hi there! As long as you are feeding the appropriate amount of calories then 2 or 3 feedings doesn't really make that much of a difference. Most people feed twice a day for convenience reasons. If it is easy for you to feed three times a day then I think that is fine.
