Is it okay to take my 2-month-old puppy to the vet for vaccines?

You're right that the vaccines are typically started at six weeks and the booster vaccines are given every 2- 4 weeks until they are 16- 20 weeks of age. The frequency of the the boosters depend on their risk. It's best to have a vet evaluate him in the next few days. HI, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! 5 weeks is a bit young to leave her mother but if she is fully weaned it should be ok. We usually do not start vaccines until they are 7 weeks of age. Some breeders will give them a parvo vaccine at under 7 weeks. You should be fine until she gets her first vaccine but people with sick dogs or unvaccinated dogs shouldn't handle her and she needs to be kept away from all dogs. I hope this helps and good luck!

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Amber is beautiful. I would say yes. I use a guideline that I have read regarding vaccination guidelines. As long as you don't go 6 weeks in between boosters you are ok. Beyond 6 weeks you are going into a time period where a good immune response could be less likely and then another booster would be advised. So as long as you are under 6 weeks between vaccines you should be fine. Good luck with Amber.
