Vaginal bleeding in a non-cycling female is considered abnormal. If your cat is acting fine otherwise and does not appear to be in distress, this may be something that can wait until tomorrow. However, if you feel the vaginal bleeding is excessive (versus just a red discharge) enough to where blood loss is a true consideration, this is not something that should wait until morning.     Cats are induced ovulators so they dont have regular periods, they ovulate when they mate. Therefore I feel that there will be another cause for this bleeding. Possibilities would be a bladder infection or damage to the vaginal tract. In some cases masses can cause bleeding but this is less common especially in a young cat. If she is bleeding a lot and in discomfort I would take her to the vet noe, but certainly she will need an appointment within the next 24 hours at least.

We do not normally see a bloody discharge in cats with heat cycles like we do in dogs. For this reason I would recommend an exam by your veterinarian. We could have blood coming from the reproductive tract from infection or a tumor, or we could have blood from the urinary tract which could be due to infection, inflammation, bladder stones, bladder tumors. The vet will do an exam and may recommend a urine test and an x-ray or ultrasound of the abdomen to help determine the cause of the blood.

Cats do not bleed during their heat cycle which makes me thing the bleeding is unrelated to her being in heat. it could be due to a urinary infection for example, i would recommend taking her to your vet in order to get it checked and treated.

I would be extremely concerned that Max has a pyometra, which is an infection of the uterus that is fatal without treatment. Cats do not bleed when they are in heat, and this is not normal. The bleeding is definitely not normal. I think you should take her to a vet tomorrow for sure. If she starts to act sick at all tonight - not eating, very lethargic, pushing like she is trying to give birth but nothing is coming out, etc then she needs to see a vet tonight.

This is not normal and could be a sign of urinary issues or trauma. If she has very recently been with the mother then neonatal isoerythrolysis would be another possibility but if you have had her more than a few days this would not be a possibility. Now that you've identified which cat is bleeding, the cause of the bleeding needs to be diagnosed so she can be treated. I would bring her into a vet right away.

This is probably not because she is in heat (cats usually do not bleed during their period), this looks like a severe urinary infection/bladder inflammation. you need to take her to the vet in order to get it treated ASAP.
