Can stray kitten poop on my couch or skin make me sick?

Nothing can happen through the skin please don' t worry. However, you always need to wash your hands and wear gloves when you handle his litter tray or your clothes which have diarrhoea on it. Make sure the house is clean etc normal hygiene rules. I would recommend to have him checked over so his diarrhoea can be treated, and he can be neutered, wormed so that everything is in order for when the baby arrives.

I recommend washing hands and possibly leaving shoes away from your cats if the stray sneezed on or near them. Basic good hygiene will help prevent disease transmission to your kitties. If you are able please take the stray into the vet as soon as you are able as it sounds like she may have a significant respiratory infection. Be sure that she is tested for feline leukemia and FIV before you ever let her near your cats to be safe.

Yes, a cat can make you sick. If you are pregnant, it's not recommend to scoop cat litter because you can get toxoplasmosis from their feces. Toxoplasmosis can cause abortion in humans and birth defects in this fetus. You can also get intestinal worms, ringworm, and flea bites if your cat has fleas. You can prevent intestinal worms by making sure Kiki is up to date on his deworming treatments, treating him right away if you see ringworm, and keeping your cat on a monthly flea treatment.

Cats don't clean their behind after every time they poop, only if it's dirty. My own cats don't clean their behind after each time they poop, and they've never had an infection from it. He will do it when he needs to, but if it become really dirty, then yes it's ok to clean it yourself. There could be a risk of infection if it's really dirty but you can clean it before it gets to that point.

Hi there. I would not be worried about him having diarrhea one time. If it persists then you need to get him to the vet for an exam. Especially at this young age, very liquidy diarrhea can cause serious dehydration. I cannot tell you if it is dangerous for you to clean it up or not. I do not know if Zero has any internal parasites that might be transmittable to you. Hello. Thank you for rescuing this kitten. I would be most concerned about this kitten having an infection & most certainly having a large number of parasites it its gut. Roundworms are especially common in kittens & can cause significant discomfort & diarrhea.
