Why is my senior cat vomiting foam, gassy, and making stomach noises?

I would be worried if Chi Chi is acting weak. Viral infections can be serious and potentially fatal. A severe parasite infection or toxin can also look the same way. If you can get to a veterinarian, go today! The doctor can test for viruses and treat her with antivomiting medications and fluids. If there are no veterinarians around, you need to be force feeding her and giving her water with a syringe or an eye dropper. Try to get at least 30cc of water in her per day and 10cc of soft food. Poor Kika! With the time frame in mind it sounds like she is having issues towards the end of digestion. This could be to do with her stomach pH being off or being overly sensitive, or could be due to the liver or pancreas etc. If her blood panel is normal and the ultrasound didn't show any structural abnormality in the stomach then I suspect it is a functional problem. I would suggest trying to feed her a food for sensitive stomachs such as gastrointestinal. I would also feed her earlier so she has more active time to digest. If this doesn't improve the situation you could try a medication such as tagamet to line and settle the tummy. Failing that tests would have to be repeated and possibly her stomach would need to be examined endoscopically.

Hi. There are many possible causes for vomiting from primary GI to secondary GI causes. If blood work or x-rays didn't get us many answers, I would move forward with an ultrasound as that much vomiting isn't normal. It sounds as California is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better. if the vet thinks it is more serious she will need a blood test and possibly an ultrasound in order to find out what is wrong.
