My senior cat's eye pupil is changing; another has a zit-like bump.

What a beautiful girl! It does look like her left eye and pupil are larger than the right. There could be a few reasons for this including increased pressure (glaucoma) or a mass behind the eye that pushes it forward and makes it appear larger. I would strongly recommend an examination by a veterinary ophthalmologist to fully evaluate her eye and her vision to see what can be done for her.

Poor Sunny! Since the lump seems to be changing the orientation of his eye, this indicates that it is either occupying space within his skull or is putting pressure on the cranial nerves going to the eye. Possible causes of lesion include a benign or malignant mass, abscess, fungal infection, among others. Even though Sunny seems comfortable, this type of lesion is likely causing some degree of discomfort or pain. Animals are generally pretty good at masking signs of pain as a natural defense mechanism. At this point, I recommend taking Sunny to his vet for evaluation and treatment of the underlying issue. Hello. This is very likely a benign tumor. I have a personal cat that has almost the exact same tumor on his chin that I am watching, too. But this is awful close to the eye, & if it gets any bigger, it may rub on the cornea. If you were my client, I would recommend removal. At 13, if your cat is relatively healthy with no underlying problems seen on bloodwork, then the surgery should go very smoothly. I would consider having it removed soon. Hello! This is probably a small cyst or pimple-like structure, but given the age of Jak, I do recommend that he gets checked out by a vet sometime soon to be sure it isn't a cancerous lump. At the vet's office, they will give Jak a full exam, and possibly take a sample of cells from the lump with a small needle to look at under the microscope (called a fine needle aspirate, or FNA). This well help the vets see if the lump is something that can be watched, or if it needs to come off. Good luck, and I hope Jak's lump turns out to be nothing to worry about!

These could be benign tumors or they could be malignant. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of its cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. Once the cause of the lump is diagnosed, the vet can discuss treatment options if needed. Based on the location, this could be a blocked tear duct. It could also be a cyst or a growth. Do not squeeze it. Have her seen by a vet on Monday to have it treated since it has gotten bigger over time. Best of luck.

The picture did not attach, so I do not have that information, but we commonly see eyelid margin tumors in older dogs. These are most commonly benign meibomian gland tumors.
