What litter and ointment are safe for my cat after declaw surgery?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Bobtail | Female | spayed | 10 months and 9 days old

Button after one week 2 day declaw home . .She won't use the paper shredded litter at all just refuses . Will use the natural corn fiber liter out other cat and her usual use and I pick her up before she can dig or cover afterwords. Can I apply Quadritop ointment paws nystatin neomycin sulfate thiostrepton triamcinilone acetonide ointment they gave Peapumpkin for hot spots where she was raw . Thought it might help with healing . She wants the e collar off but I know she will rip stitches

I would not recommend applying Quadritop to her incisions - it contains a corticosteroid that could inhibit healing. You may want to try a compressed paper litter like Yesterday's News since the corn could still get stuck in her incisions even though she's not scratching in the box.
