Is Revolution a safe and effective flea, mite, worm medicine for cats?

I would not worry about severe reactions as selamectin (Revolution) is an avermectin and can be used after Sentry and Advantage multi without a problem. Avermectins are a different class of acaricide and therefore there will be no overdose when used with the others. Both your kitties should be ok and there should be no adverse reaction re the kittens either.

I'm sorry to hear about your issue with Cheyletiella. They are a bothersome parasite to deal with! Apply Revolution every 2 weeks for 3 treatments (use appropriate dose for your kittens' weight). You can use Frontline Plus as well if you feel you aren't getting the results you wanted at the dosage of Revolution stated above. Fontline Plus can be applied every 2 weeks at the correct dose based off body weight for this problem. You should also use a lime silver dip or topical flea product to clean the kittens. Diluted bleach 1 part bleach:9 parts water sprayed on all surfaces and allows to sit for 10 minutes before wiping clean should help. All bedding and toys should be washed in hot water or thrown away. Hi I would suggest you buy a box of 6 pipettes of Revolution. Make sure you apply one pipette on each cat to the skin to the back of their neck, so it’s important you part hair when applying it. You need to repeat it every month. I would also suggest you spray the environment to kill all eggs and larvae present. Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It looks like a roundworm. You should apply Revolution on Ninny as this product is effective against roundworms. However, if the worms come back, you should go for de-wormer in tablets, for example Drontal.

Not a good idea. Try putting a t-shirt on her for an hour or so until the skin absorbed most. Or you can put an e-collar on her for a little while, if you have one. I cannot tell you if it still will work when it is ingested, but since it is an avermectin it may. Watch for fleas. If fleas show up much earlier than the time it is supposed to last then it is not working. You can repeat the application about 2 weeks from now, if needed. She should be ok even if she ingests it.

In my opinion, you aren't going to get anything safer than brands like Advantage, Frontline, or Revolution. Cats are exquisitely sensitive to flea medications, and going with a cheaper brand can and does cause toxic reactions due to the reduced quality of the medication. If Dignan had a toxic reaction to a cheap flea medication, then that would cost you a lot more money than paying a bit extra for the high quality flea treatment. It's best to pay for the better brands of flea medication than risk a reaction in your cat. You can get them at your vet's office, and typically a three month supply of Revolution would cost about $60, so you'd be paying $20 a month. I would go to your vet's office to get the treatment. Revolution is a very safe product for cats. It should be applied according to directions. You can use it every 30 days. You place the medication topically at the base of the neck. Most cats cannot lick it at that location. However if she does lick a little it will not cause her harm. I actually use it on my own cats.
