It's possible there could be something underlying such as a food allergy (protein sources can cause allergies in some pets!), or even something such as parasites or an infection causing excess gas. It would be a good idea to bring in a fecal sample to your vet to check for the most common causes of GI upset, and if nothing is found consider a food trial with your vet to rule out any possible food allergies that could be contributing.

The most common cause of flatulence in a pet is dietary intolerance. It looks like the food you chose just doesn't fit well with her intestinal flora! If flatulence is the only change, and it is something you can tolerate, you do not necessarily need to change her food. Hello. Your kitty may be suffering from some type of food allergy. You can switch her to a sensitive stomach type of cat food ( Hill's Science Diet has a good one ), or you can talk to your vet about a Prescription Diet. I would also start using a good probiotic like Forti-Flora. You feed I little packet once a day for a month & see if things improve. Of course, if she is not feeling well, you must consider having her seen by your veterinarian to make sure there is not something seriously wrong with her digestive tract. Well, this is not terribly uncommon. If you are raising mom and babies correctly, you probably switched Diamond over to kitten food while she is nursing her young. This is often the cause of gaseousness and / or liquefied appearance of feces. With time, some cats more than others, the feces tends to refirm and the amount of gas returns to normal. You can try adding a product like Fortiflora to the food. This encourages healthy and quick probiotic growth in the gut. There is a canine and a feline version so be sure to grab the correct product.
