Why is my Ragdoll cat always seeking attention? Is it a breed trait?

I am a huge fan of Ragdolls. They are frankly wonderful cats. I have one currently, and in my opinion, they are the greatest breed. Mine comes when he is called, as did my previous Ragdoll that passed away three years ago. Very low key and loving cats.. When you are home, the Ragdoll will greet you with love and attention. They prefer to lie around a lot and just be loved, and are very easy to live with as a pet. I would never allow a Ragdoll to go outside simply due to their docile nature, but they are very well suited for apartment living. My Ragdoll is sitting on my lap begging for attention as I type this! I'm probably hugely biased, but I think a Ragdoll would be best :-)

Some cats are very talkative, and can respond when people speak to them. I have a Ragdoll who meows when I call his name, and comes when I call him. He may love your scent, which is why he takes your stuff only. He just sounds very attached to you.

Yes, it is normal that Ollie Houdini is very affectionate. Some cats are more affectionate than others; in fact, I had one cat who liked to spend most of his time flat on his back on my lap with me scratching his stomach. I would enjoy the extra love and attention :-)

Cici is beautiful! What a lovely looking girl. She is likely curious as to what you are up to do, what you are doing, and trying to get attention from you. My cats love to come and watch me when I'm in the bathroom! It's a little bit creepy lol.

From what you are describing I sounds like you and Milo have a strong bond which is wonderful. Cats can vary greatly in their personalities and attachment levels, just like humans. if this behaviour isn’t new, I would not be concerned. Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It sounds like your cat just loves you. Purring and meowing are signs of affection, wanting attention, wanting food, wanting pets, or wanting play. Have fun with your little one!

I would first recommend taking Marley to the vet make sure he is healthy. Some cats will become more affectionate when they are sick or not feel well. Second I would recommend increasing toy and activity in the house. He could be getting bored so he is trying to play/interact with you more. They do make toys that can hide treats in them. You can try and hid toys around the house so he has to go find them. Increasing his activity will really help in this situation
