Is my cat staring at me for attention or food? What does it mean?

Hello. Having had many, many cats, I can tell you this is probably a sign of affection, or she is trying to tell you to hurry up with dinner. Either way, I would discourage this a bit by just turning your back on her when reaching for her dish. She may not mean to, but she could inadvertently scratch or snag you with a claw. It may be impossible to know exactly why your cat is staring at you. A few reasons could include light reflecting of silverware or a ring. It's also possible he is begging. If you cat seems listless or unresponsive while staring, it could indicate seizure type brain activity. I hope this helps.

This can be normal cat behavior. Sometimes they are needy and asking for something such as food or attention, sometimes they are bored. Be sure to try to encorporate lots of environmental enrichment for Roxy around your home—scratching posts, toys, treat puzzle toys, elevated car walkways on the wall, elevated perches or window perches, bird feeders on windows next to perches etc. That may help minimize this behavior. If the behavior is related to anxiety, which is possible, a product such as Feliway or Comfort Zone may be helpful. You can use catnip on scratching posts and toys to stimulate her to play with them. Hello, and thanks for your question about Mino. Cats can meow for lots of reasons, and some are naturally more vocal than others. This can change over. It’s definitely possible that she’s simply looking for social interaction from you - but she also could be asking for more food. Nursing is an enormous energy demand, and so nursing females do need to eat a bit more. So, she may be hungrier than usual! Keep an eye on her weight, and feel free to give her a bit extra food if you notice she’s slimming down at all. Otherwise, just give her a little extra love. :-) Hope this helps!

You may also try feeding Juju Bean from a food puzzle and/or hiding food around the house for her to find. Most cats response best to combination therapy.
