My pregnant cat won't use her birthing bed. Where will she deliver?

I would recommend to keep her indoors only since she is due to have the kittens any day now. Allow her to have plenty of space away from the other cats so that she can be undisturbed by them for a period of time if she chooses to be. Nesting boxes are great, but ultimately she will choose to whelp wherever she is most comfortable. Clean, quiet areas where she can be away from the other cats is best. I would also recommend to use this time to have the male neutered, so that this does not happen again. Best of luck to your momma-to-be!

Hello, it may be hard to get her to change her nesting location. They ideally want a private, quiet, location where they feel safe. It’s probably why she preferred your closet, therefore, providing her with a close alternative may change her location. Alternatively, you can put something in your closet to prevent her from coming in or keep the closet doors shut. Ultimately, you may not be able to fully avoid this and could maybe get her a basket or some other form of container where she can have her kittens that whay your closet could remain clean. Cats are pregnant for about 60 days. You will start to. It’s e her mammary glands fill with milk around the 7th week of pregnancy. Their temperature will drop when it gets within 48 hours of labor and their appetite can decrease then. It is not uncommon to see a clear mucous discharge in the urine around a week before labor. Without knowing when she was in heat and bred these signs are the best guide to let you know about delivery.

Although the timing would be right, normally signs of labour include restlessness and nesting. The closer to the birth they are, they more queens tend to sleep because of the extra weight put on and being more tired and less agile. So in general I would not say that this is a sign of imminent labour.

Your kitty will pick the place she thinks is perfect, so you can try to put the box where she is resting. No point in arguing with her. Cat mamas know best. So if she is coming for cuddles, give her cuddles as long as she wants them. eventually she will either go away to have her babies, or have them on your lap if she so sees fit.

I would isolate Rosalinda from the other cat. She doesn't need any added stress while being pregnant, and she won't want the other cat around her or her kittens. The normal gestation for cats is 58-68 days, so she should give birth around another two weeks. Once she has weaned her kittens, you can slowly introduce Rosalinda to your other cat.
