My cat is 54 days pregnant. Does lots of movement mean many kittens?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 11 months and 25 days old | 9 lbs

My cat is 54 days pregnant. She is having a ton of movement in her belly so I'm wondering if this is a sign of a lot of kittens. I'll see one huge kick or movement on one side and on the complete other side of her belly I'll see one too. I don't know if kittens move around in the belly so that's why there's movement on complete different sides or if they only stay on one side so if there's movement on both this means there's more than one. I'm sorry if I don't make sense. Plz let me know.

She's due very soon, as cats gestation period is generally 58-64 days give or take. Their uterus is actually V-shaped, and each horn can lie along either side of her belly. Once she has weaned this litter of kittens, I strongly recommend getting her spayed to prevent further litters and a number of health problems that are more likely to occur if she is not spayed.

    The average pregnancy length is 60-63 days. 70-72 days pregnant is considered over due. So I would expect it will be any day now! If you see them move that is a good sign.

    The typical length of pregnancy for a cat is 63-67 days. You may want to check in with your vet today and make an appointment to ensure that the kittens are still doing well and to make a plan if the kittens do not come tomorrow.

    Hello. Cats are pregnant an average of 64 days. Without a breeding date, it is impossible to predict when she may have the kittens, but if you are feeling movement, then birth may be anytime between tonight & another 7-10 days. Just keep an eye on her. good luck.

Hello. It is very difficult to say if she is or is not pregnant from these pictures, because if she is only carrying 1 or 2 kittens, then she would not be as big as one carrying 4-6 kittens. And if she is truly 68 days into a pregnancy, she is overdue. If she does have kittens you should be able to rub on her abdomen & feel some substantial "bumps" at this point in time. She should start gaining weight at around or about day 40 of pregnancy. Gestation time is 63-65 days on average. The kittens may or may not move, but you should feel them from about day 45 provided they do move.

My pregnant cat's belly shows 4 kittens. Is that how many she has?
Keep in mind that the uterus of a cat is a Y shaped with two horns, and there could be kittens located more to the body of the uterus as opposed to the end of the horns. While Gg could have four kittens, it's very likely she has others than cannot be seen. There is no way to know how many kittens she has without seeing a vet. X-rays can be done that will show exactly how many kittens she is carrying.

How soon can I feel kittens moving inside my pregnant cat's belly?
You might be able to feel this during very late term pregnancy, around day 55 or 60. But in many cases, you really can't feel much of anything from the outside - unborn kittens are very tiny and don't tend to move very vigorously, so if you can't feel anything, this doesn't necessarily mean that anything is wrong :)
