Is my 3-month Persian kitten's weight normal? How much should I feed?

From the pictures alone, he appears well muscled and does not appear to be underweight (although a physical exam would be better at determining this). Kittens should weigh about 5 pounds at 6 months old, so I would continue feeding him a kitten food from Royal Canin and make sure he gets a kitten vitamin daily to encourage healthy growth. If you notice Voldy is not gaining any more weight or is eating less, you may want to have him seen by his veterinarian for exam just to make sure there are no underlying medical issues. At this age it is not recommended to put your kitten on a diet. I would just recommend feeding appropriately from here moving forward and your kitten should lose the extra kitty fat gradually as she grows. Also it is nearly impossible to be overweight to the point of causing any health concerns at this age (2 months). Follow the food guidelines on the back of your kitten food bag and also limit the amount of treats she gets. And most importantly, keep her active so that she remains healthy and slim. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! He should be eating about 275 - 300 calories per day to continue to grow at a healthy weight. It is not based on the volume of food but more so based on the amount of calories in the food you feed him. This information should be in the back of the bag or can you feed him or possibly online. I can understand your dilemma here. You can try offering her 1/4 cup 3 times a day and see if his curbs her hunger. The food recommendations on the bag are more like guidelines. I would also recommend weaning her off the milk over the next week, because she is old enough where she doesn’t need it after 6 weeks of age.
