My older cat won't eat after new kittens. Is he upset or sick?

I would recommend trying to keep the kitten and older cat separated for now. Than slowly introducing them back to each other. I would make sure that the older cat has a litter box and food some place away from the kitten that way he will feel more comfortable eating. It is very important cats eat every day. If Niko is not eating anything he needs to go see a vet. You can try feliway which is a cat pheromone to help decrease stress in the house too. The reason Niko is acting out is due to stress in the house

The stress of the new kitten could have started his symptoms, but most of the time a cat will adjust to new circumstances in the amount of time you have described. If it is not stress, he may have contracted an illness from the kitten. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian again or you can consider seeking a second opinion. If a cat goes long enough without eating, they will develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. Try to tempt TJ to eat with some boiled white meat chicken, but if he won't eat that, take him into a vet immediately. Best of luck.

If Jack hasn't had tune in water before, then this new food could have upset his stomach. His stomach may still be queasy from vomiting the day before, and he simply may not want to eat a lot due to that. It's good that he ate a little, and I would not worry just yet. Should he not want to eat at all tomorrow, then I would take him into the vet for a health check.

It's extremely serious she isn't eating, as when a cat doesn't eat for longer than 72 hours, they develop a fatty liver which is fatal without treatment. While the stress of having a new kitten can cause a cat not to eat, it shouldn't last this long. I'm concerned there is something more serious going on with her, such as kidney disease, liver disease, dental problems. or even cancer. She needs veterinary care now, please take her into a vet right away.

Many things could be going on such as pain, intestinal worms, fever from many sources - infection, inflammation, etc. Kittens commonly develop upper respiratory infections due to viruses but can then develop secondary bacterial infections. It's best to take him to your veterinarian right away so they can perform a physical exam including his vitals to see if he has a fever. Once they perform that, they can advise fecal tests, blood tests, or x-rays to help them determine what is causing him problems. I hope Jack gets well soon.
