Why did my male kitten cry peeing alone first time, not pooping?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Remus! I recommend, with kittens this young, confining them to one room with their food/water and a shallow litter pan. I keep them in there until they are using the litter pan consistently. Then I let them out only when I am home but do not move the litter pan. Then once the kitten is using the litter pan in his room and the one in the main house he can me let out of the room. Then you can move the litter pan out. As for the crying when he urinating and defecating, be sure his stools aren't too hard. In some way mild vocalizing can be normal and he will out grow it. If it persists mention it to your Vet when you are in for shots. I hope this helps and I wish Remus the bestQ

With a 2 month old kitten crying in the litter box I would be concerned about diarrhea or even constipation. If this is the case I would recommend bringing Kajin to be evaluated at your veterinarian to make sure there is no intestinal parasites and to make sure this is what is going on. If Lumi is only passing small amounts of urine he could have cystitis (bladder inflammation), crystals in his urine, bladder stones or even a UTI. Since Lumi is a male cat he has the risk of obstructing and not being able to urinate at all. A urinary obstruction is life threatening. I recommend that he see a Vet today to relieve his discomfort and prevent it from worsening. I hope this helps and I wish Lumi the best!

Oh dear, poor Prince! I'm extremely concerned that he is vocalizing and has been in and out of the litter box. As a male cat, he's at an increased risk of developing a urethral obstruction, which is a blockage that prevents him from emptying his bladder. Some cats can develop partial blockages, which allow them to still dribble small amounts of urine, but even this are a major problem. If Prince has a urethral obstruction, this is an immediately life-threatening emergency. You should take him to an emergency veterinarian right away for treatment. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Lumi! Lumi is a young little guy and he may be clingy because he misses his siblings or want comfort with something. I would be sure you are feeding him kitten food. Formula can constipate. I would put him in a room with a flat litter pan (baking pan) that he can easily get in to. Keep putting him in there, dig around with your fingers. It is hard to give you an estimate of costs when we are not sure what is going on. If it has been over a day with out pee and over 3 with out poop he should see a Vet. An exam is on average $50. Ask for an estimate if they recommend other testing. I hope this helps!

Poor baby! I am worried that she is having diarrhea and an increased urgency to go or severe constipation. Since she is so uncomfortable and so tiny and young, I would strongly recommend to have her seen by your vet as soon as possible. Your vet will be able to determine the cause and get her started on the proper meds to help her feel better. They will also be able to give her fluids if needed. There is always a worry with male cats about a urethral blockage when they show this behavior. It's good you know to have him seen by a vet for this. If you see him trying to pee but nothing is coming out, he's yowling when trying to pee, his pee appears very bloody, he's lethargic, vomiting, refusing to eat, and/or he is licking his genitals a lot, you must take him into an ER vet right away. Otherwise, you can wait until tomorrow. Feed him wet food and add water to it to flush his bladder. I hope this helps!
