My 8-week kitten cries in litter box, won't use it. UTI or normal?
Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Remus!
I recommend, with kittens this young, confining them to one room with their food/water and a shallow litter pan. I keep them in there until they are using the litter pan consistently. Then I let them out only when I am home but do not move the litter pan. Then once the kitten is using the litter pan in his room and the one in the main house he can me let out of the room. Then you can move the litter pan out. As for the crying when he urinating and defecating, be sure his stools aren't too hard. In some way mild vocalizing can be normal and he will out grow it. If it persists mention it to your Vet when you are in for shots.
I hope this helps and I wish Remus the bestQ
