Is bloody discharge from my 4-month-old male cat's genitals normal?

If you haven't seen any problems since and there is no blood in his urine, I would not worry. It may be that you were seeing the very tip of his penis was out of he prepuce, (especially since he's not neutered) and it looks bright red. It can leak out when the glands are full or if something scares the cat, they can express them. The anal glands normally are expressed during defecation. I would have the anal glands checked by your Vet. If he is starting to spray around the house I would have him neutered. I hope this helps and I wish you the best!

Brownish color to the anal gland secretion is normal. A little reddish tinge to it is not abnormal as small amounts of blood can be produced during the expression. If you saw significant redness or frank blood during their expression, this might be something worth investigating with a vet should you start to see any clinical signs of illness. Hope this helps.

Hi, since Grimmy was neutered, it is likely that this mucous is coming from her anus. The drops in the in the second picture look like diarrhoea to me. I think it is better to have Grimmy checked over. In the meantime, you can feed her a bland diet of plain chicken or fish and rice. Hope this helps !

This could be mucus in his stool or possibly material from his anal glands. If he is behaving normally, you can offer a bland diet for a few days and minimize stress as much as possible. If the discharge worsens or if Napoleon becomes lethargic, develops diarrhea, stops eating or starts vomiting, then you should have him examined by your veterinarian. A pheromone product, such as Feliway spray or plug in diffusers, may help to decrease any anxiety or stress.

It is difficult to say without being able to examine your kitty. This may be blood from an anal gland infection, but could also be from an injury or bloody diarrhea. You should take her to a veterinary doctor as she will need antibiotics to prevent infection.
