My kitten has worms. How do I clean my carpet and furniture?

I would make sure that your cats and your puppy are both up to date on their deworming treatments. If they aren't, you will need to get treatments for them from the vet. As for cleaning the house, I would shampoo the carpets, and scrub any hardwood floors.

Yes, adult worms will not survive in the environment but the eggs can survive in fecal matter so be sure to clean up after any accidents. Take a sample of the worms for identification to be sure she gets the most appropriate treatment as soon as possible

I can't blame you for not wanting to pick up the worms on your carpet, but unfortunately, that's the only way to get the job done. Consider putting on disposable gloves or using tongs to pick them up to dispose of them in the trash. It's definitely a good idea to clean and sanitize everything after your cat has had worms just to prevent spreading it back to your cat (or yourself from contact with any affected material as roundworms are transmissible to people and other pets). I would make sure at the very least to completely change the litter, wipe down the litter box with a sanitizing wipe, and wash any bedding your cat regularly sleeps on including your own, their beds, the couch, etc. This can help get rid of any roundworm eggs that may still be in the environment as it can be spread through fecal matter.

A very good scrub of the house will suffice. Steam mop the hardworking surfaces, and you can steam clean the carpets as well. It's important to remove any fecal material from the home, as that's how tapeworm infection is passed.

They may require you to bring Mystique in for an exam prior to giving you any prescription medication if you haven't been there with her recently.
