White lump on kitten's anus: looks like litter but won't come off?

Thank you for providing pictures of Butters's lump! If he had an accessed anal sac, the area right around his anus would be swollen and pain, and you would likely see blood in the feces, constipation, and/or painful defecation. From the picture, this looks like a growth, which could be benign or malignant. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. The vet can perform a test called a fine needle aspirate on it. To do this, the vet sticks a small needle into the lump to get a sample of it's cells, and examines the cells on a slide under a microscope. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would have Butters seen by a vet tomorrow to diagnose what is causing the lump so it can be treated as needed.

Poor guy. The fact that he is so young, and the location of the bump, suggests that he may have unfortunately been bitten by an insect in this area. If he is not licking it excessively causing redness of the skin or seems bothered by it, I would leave it be for now and monitor it for the next few days to see if it starts to resolve on its own. If it seems irritating, then you can try applying a very small amount of Neosporin on the area and play with him for 15 mins to allow it time to absorb. Do not apply too much where he can lick it off and cause stomach upset. If it happens to not be improving after 4-7 days, then I would take him in to your vet to have him checked out so they can get a closer look at the area. Other possible causes is a foreign body with subsequent inflammation (granuloma) or an allergic skin reaction. There is nothing I would be worried about as the anus seems only mildly inflamed. Usually this is caused by softer feces/diarrhoea. I would recommend to start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. This kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Differentials include skin cysts, infections, benign or more sinister type of tumors (very unlikely given the age). Treatment would depend on the underlying cause. Disinfection can eventually be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking. The pictures are not clear but this must be checked by a vet urgently. I would be concerned that this is a prolapse (when internal organs poke out) and surgical repair may be required, urgent assessment is vital as damage and trauma can occur

It looks like a benign cyst. I cannot be 100% sure though just by looking at a photo. I just suggest you monitor it for any major changes - like it gets much larger or changes in color - and if you notice that then have your vet check it.

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! To orient you to his anatomy from your picture: to left by tail in the black fur is the anus (larger flesh colored circle). Going towards the right into the white fur the light pink tubular structure is the prepuce (sheath where penis lives) and the redder center is the penis itself. Everything in your picture is normal.
