Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 25 days old | 8.3 lbs

What is this white lump on my kittens anus? I thought it was a piece of litter but it wont come off. No signs of pain or discomfort.

Hmm... from your photo, I can't tell for sure what this might be. You're right that it looks like a piece of litter, but it could also possibly be a piece of fecal material that is still inside the rectum. If Toby is acting normal, I would recommend waiting 24 hours (or until he poops again) to see if it's still there. It may pass on its own the next time he has a bowel movement.

If it's still present by this time tomorrow, or if it begins to bleed or show any other signs of a problem, it would be best to have him checked by a vet - he/she can do a rectal exam to palpate the area and get a better idea of what may be going on.
