My senior cat has a skin tag-like lump on her anus. What is it?

It looks like a benign cyst to me but, of course, I cannot be 100% sure just by looking at a photo. Whenever you get a chance just take her to your vet so they can check it in person. Now that you know it is there keep an eye on it and if there are any drastic changes with it she should be examined by the vet sooner. Hope this helps. Best wishes!

These typically have this appearance and sometimes will not change in size or will increase in size. Most of these do not bother the animal and can be monitored. Hi there, Emmie could just have a benign skin tag, but any lump should be checked with fine needle aspirate (small poke into the bump to collect cells which then get checked on microscope). Unfortunately, all your pictures were completely fuzzy, but regardless, it is always best to have lumps & bumps looked at quickly by your veterinarian. Fortunately, most are going to be harmless or benign, but if not, removal at a very early stage is almost always curative. Once you vet has a look, he will recommend the best treatment for Clyde. Hi, If I read the pic correctly with the anus above it to the left, the lesion may be a perianal fistula. In cats, where these fistulas are quite rare, the problem is usually in the glands or anal sacs. Perianal fistulas are unpleasant and painful, and require veterinary treatment such as antibiotics, so please take her to the vet sooner than later.

The pink raised mass in the picture appears to be a wart. I would not be concerned about this unless it grows or changes in color. The lump you feel could range from a cyst to a cancerous growth. I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian for an aspirate. This is where they can take cells from the mass and look at it with microscope
