My 2-month-old kitten is shivering and has a leg injury. What to do?

I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian so that this can be further assessed which will likely include radiographs. Since he's so young the leg may heal fine on its own. As long as he's eating let him rest and give him a day or two to get better. If he stops eating or the shaking and tremors worsen please take him in for an exam. There is no safe. human pain medication for cats or kittens. Hopefully he'll improve. Nibbles is so cute! There could be a few causes for the symptoms you describe - migration of internal parasites, viral infections, injury. I strongly recommend having her examined by your vet to try to determine why her leg is painful, and why she is shivering. I hope this helps.

There are many possible ways a kitten could become injured but a bite from another cat causing a cat bite abscess is quite possible. I am concerned that the leg appears bent but without a picture it is impossible to advise further, a full vet check would be recommended if the lameness does not improve after 4-6hours rest

I am sorry to hear Boronito has a hurt paw. There may be many causes for this including a puncture wound to the paw, some foreign material stuck between his paws, or a fracture to the limb. If he is shaking, he is probably in a lot of pain and discomfort from the injury. He will need an x-ray of the limb and an exam of the paw to determine what the cause may be. He may also need to be on pain medications or other medications as needed as well. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done from home except for trying to immobilizing the limb. The only way to tell is by having an x-ray done by your veterinarian - this will show exactly what is wrong with the bone, and will also give the information needed to determine whether it can be fixed or not. I would recommend taking the kitten to your vet for an exam and x-rays as soon as you are able to - he/she will be able to advise you further on what can be done to help the kitten, depending on what the x-rays show.

Poor Tom! Without seeing him I cannot say for sure what he has injured. He could have simply sprained a muscle or broke a toenail. Unfortunately, he could have also broken a bone. I would strongly recommend to have your vet take a look at him. Your vet will be able to localize the pain and take x-rays if needed. They will be able to get him started on pain meds and the proper treatment plan to help him feel better. I hope this helps!
