Why is my 7-month-old kitten not eating his wet food or much dry food?

Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. It could be that Burger is teething, and that is causing him to not want to eat. Teething can be painful in kittens, and you can try tempting him to eat with some boiled white meat chicken, or gently warming up really smelly wet food such as sardine or fish based. You can also soak his dry food in gently warmed low sodium beef or chicken broth. If he won't eat this food, I would have him seen by a vet immediately for a health check.

Hello, I am so sorry you cat is not eating well. It is difficult to determine the underlying cause without a physical exam. Common causes of not eating in cats include: dental disease, inflammation of the intestines, liver, or pancreas, kidney disease, parasites or cancer. Please make an appointment to have your Cat examined as soon as possible.

It sounds like he is getting sick. Without additional clinical signs it is hard to say exactly what is causing his lethargy and decreased appetite but he could be starting with a respiratory virus or a gastrointestinal virus. He could also have parasites that need to be treated. If it continues than he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. Your vet can run lab work to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. If he is unvaccinated, please discuss a vaccine plan with your vet once he has recovered from this illness.

What a cute kitten! Offering a meat flavored baby food may help entice him to eat. Warming his food may also allow him to smell it better which will help his appetite. Offer him small meals several times a day as his stomach is too small to eat a lot at one time at this age. Definitely have him rechecked by your veterinarian if he's not eating by tomorrow. I hope he's feeling better soon.

Ginger needs to be examined by the veterinarian. Any pet that does not eat for 48 hours needs to be checked. It's possible she is sick or has gotten into something and it's best to play it safe. The doctor will likely want to check some bloodwork to make sure there's no evidence Ginger picked up an Advil or something else of that nature. I hope this helps.
