Why is my 5-month-old kitten meowing constantly and not eating?

Loss of appetite can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check for these possibilities and others depending on the findings on exam. If he is otherwise doing well, he is likely fine and this is not anything important. However, if he develops any other symptoms such as lethargy, inappetence, vomiting or diarrhea, have him evaluated by a veterinarian. Best of luck!

Kitten food is actually more nutritious than KMR - KMR is really for those tiny kittens who are so little they're not yet ready to try solids on their own. So, if your kitten is willing to eat canned kitten food well, I would work on weaning her off the KMR. However, if she's refusing to eat anything for more than 1 meal in a row, then I would take her right in to your vet. Little kittens like Baby can get dehydrated and sick very quickly, so prompt medical care is important if she's not feeling well. Hope this helps!

Hello. I would speak with your veterinarian as soon as possible. In such a young kitten, things can change very quickly especially if Sheeran has been incubating an illness early on & is showing symptoms now. He is still so young that he may need antibiotics are additional testing to see what the problem might be. I hope you can have him seen soon, but do make sure he continues to eat & drink every day. Although it's not a very specific symptom, appetite tells us a lot about how our pets are feeling, and since the decreased appetite has been going on more than 24 hours, it's time for Cash to see the vet. Poor Fluffy! There could be a medical reason behind why he isn't eating his food and getting sick, such as dental problems, systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. He needs to see a vet to diagnose what is causing his symptoms so he can be treated. I would take him into a vet asap.
