How to tell if my kitten injured her neck on a window blind cord?

That does sound very worrisome. Unfortunately an injury to the spine is not something that we can diagnose by hearing the clinical signs. As you know, a back injury can be very serious. I recommend to get mittens in to see the veterinarian quickly. The doctor will be able to palpate the back and should get an idea as to if a back injury is likely. Pets can also get soft tissue muscle pulls, hip pain and a variety of other ailments that are not as serious as a spinal injury. The first step though is to get her checked out. She needs a physical exam and x-rays to see if there has been any damage internally from the tightened collar. If there is damage, then the vet can treat her.

She could have something stuck in her mouth or under her tongue especially since you know she chewed on the blind or she could have gotten a hold of something else. This is an emergency. You need to take your kitten to a pet ER right away. Small kittens can die very quickly from injuries but they can also recuperate very quickly if treated properly. It is important to find where the blood comes from and how serious the injury is. The fact that the neck is hurting is especially concerning. Please take your kitten to an emergency veterinarian now.
