My kitten is sick, losing weight, tired, and not eating. What's wrong?

It sounds like poor Olive is sick. Anorexia and lethargy can be signs of many illnesses such as a systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. It's actually quite serious when a cat isn't eating, and I would take her into the vet as soon as possible. The vet can diagnose the cause of her symptoms, and can treat her for it. Hello, sorry to hear about Jasmine. Kittens this young may suffer from intestinal parasites, upper respiratory infections and other viral infections such as FIV and FeLV. Other conditions which may make them lethargic include dietary indiscretions or ingestion of foreign matrial. If jasmine is eating and drinking ok, without any vomiting or diarrhea she may be able to wait a little longer until you can bring her to a veterinarian. If she is otherwise not eating well, has vomiting or diarrhea, then you should consider having her evaluated soon. Monitor for any sneezing, coughing, nasal discharge, eye discharge, constipation, vomiting or diarrhea. Best of luck and hope this helps!

Poor Willow! It does sound like she isn't feeling well. It would be best to bring her to a vet ASAP to check for issues such as a foreign body from eating any kitty litter, GI upset, illnesses, etc that could be causing the symptoms you are seeing, especially if this has been ongoing for more than a day.

Given her age there are several things that cross my mind, but a common issue in these young kittens is parasites. Sometimes their parasite burden can be so high that they cannot maintain adequate glucose levels, and also can become uninterested in food and sometimes will begin vomiting. I would recommend deworming her. Also, it would be important to rule out signs of infection and/or sepsis. I think she needs to be seen by a veterinarian right away. Such a young and small animal can deteriorate quickly even with easy to resolve issues like gastrointestinal parasites.

I recommend that you take Jade to the vet as soon as possible. From her history, there are a few things that I am concerned about. The first is intestinal parasites, she needs to be tested and treated accordingly. The other is viral infections such as panleukopenia. She may also benefit from bloodwork to check for malnutrition, anemia, kidney disease, etc. Continue to encourage her to eat wet kitten food, and check her thoroughly for fleas. It sounds like he is getting sick. Without additional clinical signs it is hard to say exactly what is causing his lethargy and decreased appetite but he could be starting with a respiratory virus or a gastrointestinal virus. He could also have parasites that need to be treated. If it continues than he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. Your vet can run lab work to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat. If he is unvaccinated, please discuss a vaccine plan with your vet once he has recovered from this illness.

I'm sorry Baxter isn't feeling well. I would recommend a vet visit to check for parasites or viral disease. If he hasn't been tested the vet may recommend testing for feline leukemia as well. If he's not eating well please get him to the vet first thing this week.
