My 2-month-old kitten is limping with a leg lump. Should I worry?

If you think there is any chance Orea has a broken leg she should be seen by a veterinarian. The vet can determine how serious the injury is, the approriate treatment and also help her with pain medication. Until you can get her to the vet, keep her in a small area with food, water and litterbox, but where she can't run or jump and further injure herself. Usually a large dog crate works well to confine a kitten for a short period of time.

It could be soft tissue damage from an injury causing limping but it could also be a result of an orthopedic issue. Kittens can also get viral infections like calicivirus that can cause limping. I'd recommend keeping Binks quiet by confining her to a small area and not allowing her to run, jump, or use stairs. If she continues to limp or any other abnormal signs develop she should be examined by a veterinarian as she may need X-rays or pain medication. Please remember there are no safe over the counter pain medications for cats so you will need to get these from a veterinarian. Since it has only been going on a few hours and she does put some weight on it when jumping I think you could monitor her today. I would try to keep her indoors and confined to small room so she stays quiet and rests the leg as much as possible. If swelling starts, she starts acting lethargic, or the limping doesn't resolve in the next 24 hours I would have her evaluated by a veterinarian so they can assess her for wounds or more serious injuries. Swelling like this can happen with muscle injury, bruising under the skin, or with fractures. The severity of the injury is generally related to how much she is limping. If she is not using the leg, then I would be worried about a fracture and/or nerve injury. This would require a visit to a veterinarian within 24 hours. If she just has a slight lump, then it's likely just soft tissue swelling. In this case, it would still be best to have a vet evaluate her, but is not as urgent. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian so that this can be further assessed which will likely include radiographs. I would rest them over the weekend. No running, jumping, or playing. Keep them indoors at all times if they are allowed outside, and put them each into their own rooms to keep them quiet. If they still appears painful after this time, then I would take them into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. They may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Please do not give them any human pain medications, as many are toxic to cats and are fatal if given.

Oh no, poor Belis! It is certainly possible that her leg is broken, but it could also be sprained or infected from an animal bite if she's allowed outside. She has to see a vet for this, so I would bring her into one right away. Given that it's really swollen and she's been walking around with a limp limb for three to four days, medical attention is required now. Please bring her into an ER vet or find a vet on call to see her now.
