Kitten licked Terro ant bait. Is it toxic to cats? Urgent help needed!

Because Blue only licked it so briefly, I would not rush her into a vet. You may see some drooling and frothing at mouth. I would rinse out her mouth with cool water using a syringe, and keep an eye on her. If she does start acting out of the ordinary, starts having uncoordinated movements, tremors, convulsions, or seizures, I would take her into a vet immediately.

Terro has a very low toxicity to humans and animals but if he is acting lethargic then he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. Your vet can run blood-work, if needed, to help diagnose the problem and then determine if treatment is needed.

Please have the label available so you can let them know the amount of medication listed, how much was in the package, and what any other potentially concerning ingredients were.

They can tell you whether you need to rush to the emergency vet or to not worry at all. There is a $59 fee but that is much cheaper than an emergency vet visit! Borax is toxic to cats and you can see vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and excessive thirst. This really does have to be checked out by a vet immediately, and emergency vets should be open all night. Please take Rocket Girl into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. I just checked out the information on the Combat website, and this is what is says: "The active ingredients in Combat products are either fipronil or hydramethylnon. These ingredients are fatal to insects, such as ants and roaches, but have been shown to have a very low toxicity in humans and domestic animals." I would rinse your cats's mouth out with warm water in case there is any gel left in there. I would monitor your cat to be safe. If you see any signs of vomiting, diarrhea, muscles tremors, convulsions, or lethargy, those can be signs of a reaction to the poison, and then I would take him into the vet immediately. There is no specific antidote, but he may need supportive treatment for his symptoms. You would see a reaction to this ingestion within a couple of hours, so if he's still acting normal by tomorrow, he will be fine.
