My young kitten on formula pooped a blood clot. What should I do?

Soak her bottom in some warm water to soften the stool, then gently wipe her clean. Offer a quality canned kitten food and mix in some unflavored PediaLyte to keep her hydrated. This will help ease defecation. Submit a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites. Deworm Lily if indicated and repeat in 2 weeks. An exam should also be done since she is a "new" pet. Once she is deemed healthy, you can discuss an appropriate vaccination protocol with your vet.

It could be diarrhea with blood in it. Yes, bring a sample of it into a vet, and there may not be a need for a urine sample. I'd take them all into the vet. Intestinal worms are very common in kittens, and would cause blood in the poop. I hope this helps.

I would still recommend taking your kitten into the veterinarian to have an x-ray performed. She may have fractured the leg and just have a small hairline fracture without bone displacement. She would still need a splint or cast placed to help the bone heal. She may also benefit from some pain medication as well. As for the blood in her stool, I would recommend having a fecal examination performed by your veterinarian. It is very common for young kittens like this to have intestinal parasites that need to be treated with specific dewormers. There are other causes of blood in the stool as well such as dietary indiscretion, foreign bodies, viruses, or stress. blood in the stools is usually a sign of a viral/bacterial gastrointestinal infection, it could also be due to intestinal worms (less common). you need to take them to the vet quite urgently in order to get treatment, this is not something you can treat at home.

It looks like Ollie might be having a partial rectal prolapse, which can happen with diarrhea from things like parasites or from constipation. The blood might be related to diarrhea or if it's a small amount it could be from the rectum and from irritation. I would recommend seeing a veterinarian right away given his age - if it is a small prolapse it could get worse quickly and require surgical repair. The vet can hopefully determine the underlying cause and offer treatment.
