My kitten ate chocolate icecream. A lid from an icecream container was left out and I found her eating icecream off of it. I took it from her before it was licked clean. She did get quite a bit of it. What should I do?

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I don't think Dean ate a significant amount of chocolate. Chocolate is toxic to cats, but the toxic dose is much higher than Dean could have ingested. Please, monitor him at home for now. He may develop mild signs of gastroenteritis ( a vomit or a bout of loose stools) but there should not be any more serious problems.
