My 9-month-old cat ate chocolate Oreos and brownie. Is it toxic?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 9 months and 30 days old | 6 lbs

My cat is 9months. She got a hold of crumbs of chocolate Oreos and possibly a chocolate brown. It's wasn't a lot. But I am considered about it. I took it from her as soon as I saw get it.

Good on you for taking that away from Ava as soon as possible! There isn't a lot of chocolate in the Oreos, but I am concerned about her eating the chocolate brownie. That's because brownies are often made with cocoa powder, which is quite toxic to cats. It would be best that Ava is seen by vet now to be treated to prevent any potential chocolate toxicity.
